Traffic optimisation as part of the upgrade of the logistics hub in Vinnytsia
Full name of the project:

Transport micromodelling services and development of a concept for optimising traffic and pedestrian flow as part of the reconstruction of the Vinnytsia Distribution Centre in Vinnytsia

Customer:

LLC «Promyslova 9»

City:
Deadline:

01 July 2020 – 26 January 2021

Initial data:
  1. General plan of the territory of the distribution centre.
  2. Traffic flow diagrams for the streets adjacent to the distribution centre.
  3. Traffic pattern through the territory of the distribution centre and the algorithm for unloading/loading trucks, distribution and/or algorithm for arrival/departure of trucks by time. Separately for each type of truck.
  4. Scheme of private vehicle traffic on the territory of the distribution centre, parking, boarding and disembarking of passengers, time for passing the checkpoint, parking time, etc.
  5. Traffic flow composition and traffic intensity in the modelled areas.
  6. Traffic flow patterns of pedestrians entering (and leaving) the distribution centre, as well as their routes through the distribution centre.
  7. Traffic patterns, intensity, and algorithms of employees’ work on the territory of the distribution centre.
  8. Daily number of employees, shift composition, visitors to the distribution centre.
  9. Vehicular traffic in the logistics centre and the surrounding area (directions, intensity, parking spaces, pick-up and drop-off points, stops, etc.).
The purpose of the project:

To evaluate the effectiveness of the master plan design solutions using microsimulation simulation in the PTV Vissim software environment; to determine the maximum throughput capacity of the logistics centre and potential bottlenecks; to analyse the impact of the construction object on the adjacent street and road network of the city; to simulate scenarios for the operation of the facility.

Results:

A report on the results of the services provided in 2 copies in paper form in A4 format and in electronic form. Other reporting materials, namely the .inpx file of the simulation micro-model, presentation and calculation models for analysis, are submitted in electronic formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PTV Vissim). Presentation video of the design solution for the distribution centre from different angles, transferred on electronic media in .mp4 or .avi formats
